Ms. Shirley Kapitsky
August 2022
Dear Edgewater Community,
It is with great pleasure and excitement that I welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year. To the new students and their families, we are excited you are joining the Edgewater family.
I hope that you enjoyed the summer and had time to reconnect with family and friends and create wonderful memories.
At Edgewater we believe the partnership between school and home is essential to instill the love of lifelong learning. Together we can encourage emotional, intellectual, and creative growth, to ensure each child reaches their potential.
We are looking forward to, after two years of restrictions, a year of activities, community engagement, and exciting learning.
Edgewater is striving to be a no-waste school. This means whatever food/packaging that is brought into the school will be sent home to be composted or recycled. Please have a conversation about how you want your child to organize their lunch boxes with their leftover food/peels or empty containers to minimize the mess. Please send in a refillable water bottle and cutlery with your child every day.
Please see this link for more information.
I would also like to encourage you to label your child/children’s belongings so that any misplaced items that are labeled find their way back to the owner.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
On behalf of the staff at Edgewater, I wish you a fabulous school year.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kapitsky
